ESPN announcer Karl Ravech delivered the ultimate jinx during the Little League World Series final on Sunday.
The championship game between California and Curacao was one of the most entertaining in recent memory, ending with a walkoff that probably shouldn’t have happened.
As Ravech pointed out right before the last play of the game, Curacao hadn’t given up a single home run in the tournament. Seconds after he made the observation, El Segundo ended the contest with a homer that sailed over the left field fence.

Curacao had previously tied things up 5-5 with a grand slam from Nasir El-Ossaïs that erupted in wild celebration. The coach even took heat for getting a bit too involved.
This only served to set up one of the most thrilling finishes in LLWS history. Louis Lappe would be the one to step up to the plate and smash a walk-off home run to give California a 6-5 lead and a win they will never forget.

Lappe hit five homers in the tournament, the most for any player, and gushed over the spectacular feeling he reckons he won’t ever be able to replicate.
