Jatonne Sterling was found dead near Clark Atlanta University campus in Atlanta, Georgia.
The Clark Atlanta baseball player was shot and killed on Tuesday, according to the Atlanta Police Department. The police said Sterling was “not alert, conscious, or breathing and was pronounced deceased on the scene.”
He was just 20.
Police have launched an investigation into this shooting, but no arrests have been made as of yet.
Clark Atlanta released a statement after the tragedy.
“Our hearts and prayers go out to the family, friends and teammates of our student Jatonne Sterling. Please keep his family and the entire CAU community in your prayers,” the school said.

Sterling’s high school baseball coach, Earnest Radcliff, also spoke out.
“I got to bury another ball player,” said Coach Ernest Radcliffe, the Morgan Park HS head baseball coach. “We’re not supposed to do that.”
“All my players from all over crying, broke down. Everywhere, all over the country, players calling me ‘How did this happen to Sterling,'” Coach Radcliffe said.
