Cameron Robbins was on a sunset cruise while in the Bahamas to celebrate graduating high school and he allegedly made a terrible decision to make that trip memorable.
The 18-year-old jumped off a cruise ship, reportedly after being dared to take the plunge by a fellow passenger. That moment was captured on camera.
A life preserver was tossed in the water after he jumped off the ship, but he swam away from it. Soon afterward, he disappeared.
A shark sighting could also explain why the Louisiana teenager simply vanished in the water, but it has not been confirmed.
Robbins was in the Bahamas staying at the Atlantis Paradise resort in Nassau with other teenagers from Baton Rouge to mark their high school graduations, Louisiana State University confirmed. He graduated from the University Lab High School, which operates as part of LSU, on Sunday. The trip was not a school-sanctioned event, according to LSU.

University Lab School Director Kevin George said Robbins attended the school for all 13 years of his education and was a pitcher on the school’s baseball team.
The Royal Bahamas Defence Force contacted the Coast Guard for assistance on Wednesday after Robbins fell off the Blackbeard’s Revenge sunset cruise ship, but he has yet to be found.
Search and rescue crews searched more than 325 square miles looking for Robbins.
Robbins was last seen splashing in the dark waters a few feet from the boat, before vanishing from view.
The principal released a statement on behalf of the school, saying that the University Lab School community was praying for Robbins’ safe return.
“I have been in touch with Cameron’s family and at this time, authorities are still searching for him in the Bahamas,” George wrote.
“In times like these, we must come together and support each other. Words fall short of expressing the worry our entire school community is feeling.”
