Today’s early slate of college football games certainly delivered the excitement. There was a NINE overtime game between Indiana and Penn State, the Kansas Jayhawks gave no. 2 Oklahoma quite the scare, and then there was the epic shootout between no. 16 Wake Forest and Army.
In the latter game, the two teams combined for a whopping 126 points, as the Demon Deacons outlasted the Black Knights, 70-56. With that many points, you’d think this game was jam-packed with incredible highlights… And it was! But none was more impressive than what Army wide receiver Isaiah Alston did on the first play of the fourth quarter.
With his team trailing 49-35 and in need of a score, Alston went up and over the Wake Forest cornerback to pull in a ridiculous, 21-yard, one-handed touchdown in the corner of the end zone.
You won’t see many better catches than that this weekend…and maybe even this season!
Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough, as Wake Forest held on for the win.
