A standout two-sport high school athlete will never realize his dream after his life came to a shocking end.
Dion Stutts, a three-star football player, and Arkansas football commit, tragically lost his life on Tuesday.
The member of the Arkansas Razorbacks 2024 recruiting class died on Tuesday in an apparent ATV accident. Stutts was 18 years old.
Memphis University School football coach and athletic director Bobby Alston confirmed the news in a comment to the Commercial Appeal.
“Our hearts are broken for the family. Dion was such a great young man. He had a smile that warmed your heart when you had a chance to be around him,” Alston said. “We’re going to miss that smile, miss that wonderful personality and we’re just praying for his family right now.”
Arkansas defensive line coach Deke Adams, who helped lead the recruiting of Stutts to the Razorbacks program, shared his reactions to social media.
“My heart is aching right now!” Adams wrote.

“What a wonderful you[ng] man with an amazing spirit! I’m at a loss for words! We love you Dion and you will always be a Razorback! Praying for his family!”
Adams added: “We’re going to miss that smile, miss that wonderful personality and we’re just praying for his family right now.”
Stutts was acclaimed as a top-100 defensive lineman recruit nationally and a top-30 player from the state of Tennessee in the 2024 recruiting class.
During his junior year, he would record 30 tackles and 13 tackles for loss. He did not limit himself to just football as he also was a talented wrestler.
