Arizona State running back Cameron Skattebo poured cold water over a fan’s accusation that he was out partying before Wednesday’s Peach Bowl loss to the Texas Longhorns.
Cameron Skattebo put up a heroic effort against the Longhorns, rushing for 143 yards and two touchdowns while also leading the Sun Devils with eight catches for 99 receiving yards in a 39-31 overtime loss.
A fan on X/Twitter, Neil Denblomi, shared a photo of Skattebo out for drinks on New Year’s Eve the night before the Peach Bowl. Denblomi claimed that Skattebo “Was out late last night” and wrote that Arizona State isn’t “a football schedule.”
But Arizona State’s star running back put the fan in his place by explaining the real truth behind the image. The 22-year-old said that it was only 8:30 p.m. and that he was with his family and not partying.
Additionally, Cameron Skattebo emphasized he doesn’t drink alcohol and suggested that that Denblomi may have just been upset because he wasn’t able to get an autograph or picture:
Dudes a clown, that was at 830 pm and I was with family. Yes they were drinking alcohol, and if you knew anything about me you know I don’t drink. But I’m sure you posted this because you couldn’t get a picture or autograph. Man some people just want the clout and it’s sickening. https://t.co/WjYMtjzweu

Not surprisingly, Denblomi deleted the tweet and his Twitter account shortly after Skattebo posted his response.
Just another reminder to not believe every single thing you read and see on the internet. A devoted football star like Skattebo would know better than to party and be out late the night before the biggest game of his career, let alone be seen in a public setting.
The Longhorns will next face the Ohio State Buckeyes in the Cotton Bowl and College Football Playoff semifinal on Jan. 10.
Cameron Skattebo Boosts Draft Stock In Monster Year
Skattebo had an epic 2024 campaign that only boosted his NFL Draft stock, racking up 1,711 rushing yards and 21 touchdowns to go along with 45 receptions for 605 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
The 2025 NFL Draft is loaded with promising running backs, led by Boise State’s Ashton Jeanty. But Skattebo figures to be a mid-round selection after posting one of the best seasons in school history.
