There’s some speculation that Texas Longhorns quarterback Arch Manning could be on the move after the 2023 season.
Texas Longhorns fans got some great news last week with reports surfacing that star quarterback Quinn Ewers is expected to return for his junior season. That does not bode well for Manning.
It was already not looking good for him after Quinn Ewers left the Week 8 game against Houston with a sprained AC joint as many expected to see the next generation of the Manning dynasty get his time to shine. Instead, however, it was redshirt freshman Maalik Murphy who entered the game in place of the injured Ewers.
Keeping Manning away from the field in his true freshman season has been Sarkisian’s plan all along but Manning does not look like the guy who will play in 2024 either.
If Arch Manning decides to transfer, three schools are standing out above the rest, via The Spun:
Georgia:
“The Bulldogs are the best program in college football right now. They could be on the verge of winning a third straight national championship. But even amid their dominance, they have lacked truly elite quarterback play.

Arch Manning could transfer into Athens, Ga. and compete for the starting job.”
Alabama:
“Alabama isn’t too far behind Georgia – if at all. The Crimson Tide have gotten up-and-down quarterback play this season, though it’s certainly been better late.
Still, Arch Manning would likely be an upgrade in the passing department for Nick Saban’s team.”
Ohio State:
“Much like Alabama and Georgia, Ohio State has been elite this season, though just not at quarterback. Kyle McCord has been playing better as of late, but if he has a dud against Michigan on Saturday, Buckeye Nation will be welcoming Arch Manning into Columbus with open arms.”
In the end, we still have to wait and see what Manning will do.
For now, Texas is still firmly in the College Football Playoff hunt for the 2023 college football season.
