It’s National Signing Day for the college football world, which means we could see plenty of action unfold today that could change the entire landscape of NCAA Football for the next few years.
Already last night, it was being reported that one “big-time” quarterback recruit was expected to flip his commitment today.
No name or school was given in the report. That had many believing it could be the nation’s number two prospect, Arch Manning, who was going to be pulling off the shocking switcheroo on National Signing Day.

Well, it turns out that you can put those rumors to bed, because ESPN has reported that Arch Manning has officially signed with the Texas Longhorns.
The Longhorns also made the signing official with a post on Twitter.
Arch, who’s the nephew of Peyton and Eli Manning, committed to Texas back in June, choosing them over other big-time programs like Georgia, Alabama, LSU and Clemson.
In four years at Isidore Newman High School, the 6-foot-4 quarterback threw for 8,599 yards, 115 touchdowns and 20 interceptions—breaking Eli’s school record for yards, and Peyton’s record for touchdowns. He also rushed for 1,155 yards and 25 touchdowns.
Texas’ current starting quarterback is 2021 no. 2 overall prospect Quinn Ewers, who threw for 1,808 yards, 14 touchdowns and six interceptions in nine starts in 2022. According to Longhorns head coach Steve Sarkisian, Arch Manning will have an opportunity to compete with Ewers and the other Texas quarterbacks for the starting job right away in 2023.
This news means there’s a “big time” quarterback recruit out there who’s still expected to flip his commitment today. If it’s not Arch, who could it be? Stay tuned!
