Arch Manning has made a shocking decision ahead of one of the most highly-anticipated developments pertaining to college football.
According to Anwar Richardson of Yahoo Sports, the Texas quarterback is opting out of EA’s incoming ‘College Football 25’ because he’s “focused on playing football on the field.”
We’re not sure how being in a video game would in any way impact one’s real-life football, but that’s the explanation we have for now.
Meanwhile, EA Sports is offering every player who opts in $600 and a free copy of the game for the console of their choice.
A sportsman for the video game publisher told ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg that over 10,000 players have opted in, doing so in the space of just eight days. Manning’s teammate, Quinn Ewers, who starts for the Longhorns happens to be one of them.
Ewers chose to remain at Texas for another season, which means Arch will likely be warming the bench for a second consecutive term. On the bright side, he will be the first option at backup as Maalik Murphy entered the transfer portal.

There were rumors claiming Manning could transfer out as a result of Ewers’ decision, however, he has insisted that he wants to remain with the Longhorns.
