Jon Gruden has basically been cast out of professional football forever after he resigned amid reports of him using homophobic, racist and misogynistic language in emails while he worked as an ESPN analyst. Gruden has been removed from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Ring of Honor following his resignation as the head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders. Skechers has also terminated their contract with him.
He has not found too many supporters on his side, but he does have one in Aqib Talib.
The former NFL defensive back took to his podcast and tried desperately to relay a story that shows Gruden is not racsit.
“He is not a racist. Gruden just called me a couple months ago to congratulate me on TV and to give me pointers to help me fiurther my career.
You don’t have to do that kind of stuff if you’re a racist White guy…you’re not calling a young Black man to help him along in his life. If you racist, you not gon’ do stuff like that.
The racist part…I don’t buy at all. As far as how he feel about females….that’s on him.”

Critics had called for Gruden, who has coached the Raiders since the beginning of the 2018 season, to be fired since The Wall Street Journal reported he used racially insensitive language to describe NFL Players Association executive director DeMaurice Smith in a 2011 email. It appeared that Gruden would’ve survived his racist speech, but then the New York Times dropped th egauntlet on him and he had to step down.
An NFL spokesperson said the email reported in the Wall Street Journal was unearthed as part of an NFL review of workplace misconduct at the Washington Football Team that took place this summer.
