Angel Reese isn’t the only player who’s been away from the LSU Tigers as of late, but it’s as if no one’s noticing.
Reese has missed multiple games since she got benched for the second half of a game against Kent State earlier this month, and the media has not a single clue as to why that is. Kateri Poole has been MIA as well, though her absence hasn’t garnered as much speculation.
Reese is the program’s biggest star, while Poole is a role player, so she’s always going to get way more attention. Still, the latter’s disappearance is just as confusing.
Poole played five minutes against Southeastern Louisiana and hasn’t suited up since. Like Reese, the guard did not travel to the Cayman Islands with the team.
Hailey Van Lith and Aneesah Morrow joined the program during the offseason, which has cut into her Poole’s minutes. She played 16 minutes against Colorado, 15 against Queens, and another 15 against Mississippi Valley. She did not play at all against Kent State and got just five minutes vs. SEL.
The reason for her absence is unknown. But, unlike Reese, no one’s questioning it.

As for Reese, she’s been very active on social media amid her hiatus but she’s keeping her posts cryptic.
