Angel Reese, a former LSU Women’s Basketball star and now a rookie in the WNBA, graduated from Louisiana State University on Friday. She had a stern message for all of her haters who had so much to say about her during the start of her final year.
The 22-year-old former LSU standout, who the Chicago Sky of the WNBA selected with the seventh overall pick in April, posted graduation pictures and a harsh message on X, a platform that was once known as Twitter.
“So now what? what was said? oh okay that’s what i thought,” Reese captioned a series of photos she posted on Instagram and X of her in a graduation cap. “I graduated from THE LOUISIANA STATE UNIVERSITY IN 4 YEARS ON TIME. i thought somebody without a college degree said sum.”
Angel Reese earned her degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with concentrations and minors in Communication Studies, Leadership Development, and Psychology.
After her daughter graduated from college, Reese’s mother, Angel Webb Reese, also posted a message for the doubters on social media. The Chicago Sky guard sent her mother’s message to Instagram Stories over the weekend, despite her X account being private.
Angel Webb wrote, “For the most part I think I do a good job in ignoring the naysayers when it comes to my children so y’all can keep listening to those folks who do to even know what GPA even stands for let alone have not sniffed a GPA since high school.”

Webb stated to her fans that she and Angel’s father, Michael Reese, both completed their college educations and “set an example in that regard” for the player who plays for the Chicago Sky and her brother, Julian Reese.

She concluded her message, “Now y’all can find something else to talk about. Meanwhile, we are celebrating another accomplishment.”
Angel Reese And Her Mother May Have Been Also Indirectly Calling Out Former Teammate’s Mother
The mothers of two former LSU standouts engaged in a social media spat early in the women’s collegiate basketball season, with one of them attacking the other’s academic standing.
Angel Reese’s absence from the team during the beef occurred—it was assumed that Reese had been suspended, but no formal announcement was made.
At the time, Flau’jae Johnson, Reese’s friend, received criticism from her mother, Angel Webb Reese, for using poor language. On Instagram, Johnson’s mother, Kia Brooks, replied to the mother of Reese.
“You definitely know about grammar errors when your daughter got a 2.0 or less GPA, and in fact, when writing your smart message, you didn’t capitalize nor did you use any periods,” she said. “Stop being petty, fake, and hateful. And take responsibility for you and your daughters actions. Your just as responsible you raised her that way. Nobody give a damn who you think you are since you came up off another’s brand. Just like God gave it to you he will take right away. Always stay humble and never forget who made you and where you came from!!”
Despite the beef between the mothers, the two players seemed fine on the court, but the message she delivered in her graduation post was likely the final nail in the coffin of the ongoing beef.
