Angel Reese is back with LSU, but that hardly means their drama is over.
The Tigers are now short a player, with head coach Kim Mulkey having announced that junior guard Kateri Poole is no longer with the team following their 83-53 win over Louisiana on Sunday.
“She’s no longer with us,” Mulkey revealed.
She also noted that there is no chance of Poole returning. And, in true mulkey fashion, she would not say why.
Poole is a former top-25 women’s basketball prospect from the 2020 recruiting class. She transferred to LSU after two seasons at Ohio State.
The guard mysteriously left the lineup in mid-November as Mulkey kept her out against Kent State. Reese was benched in that same game and didn’t return until November 30 against Virginia Tech.

Poole played five minutes against Southern Louisiana in the next game and hasn’t been seen since. She was still said to be on the roster at the time of Reese’s return but is now gone for good, with reporters none the wiser as it pertains to the reason for her departure.
There are plenty of other unanswered questions where the Tigers, Reese, and Poole are concerned. But we might never get the answers.
