Angel Reese led the LSU Tigers to a national championship victory over the Iowa Hawkeyes 102-85, but the win itself wasn’t the only major talking point.
Iowa’s Caitlin Clark made headlines when she used John Cena’s “You can’t see me” gesture in the team’s Elite Eight victory over Louisville last Sunday. But as the clock melted down to zeroes in the final seconds, Reese decided to give Clark a tase of her own medicine.
As the Tigers awaited the celebration, Reese mocked Clark by using Cena’s aforementioned “You can’t see me gesture.” A new video clip from a fan on Twitter shows that Reese had actually been taunting Clark for 15 seconds:
Reese defended the taunting after the game, stating that she doesn’t “take disrespect lightly.”
Reese did it all on the court for LSU in the big game, recording 15 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, three steals and a block. Clark had a game-high 30 points to go along with eight assists and a pair of rebounds.

Jasmine Carson finished the game as the Tigers’ leading scorer with 22 points. Alexis Morris and LaDazhia Williams also chipped in with timely offense for the champions, finishing with 21 and 20 points, respectively.
This was the first national championship in the history of the Tigers’ women’s basketball program. 2023 also marked the school’s first appearance in the Elite Eight since 2008.
Cena himself is limited to WWE time these these because of his successful Hollywood career. However, fans did get to see him at day one of WrestleMania 39 weekend, where he lost his singles match to Austin Theory for the United States Championship.
