Alvin Kamara isn’t going to change his style for anyone, not even an NFL general manager.
In a recent interview with Uninterrupted, the New Orleans Saints running back revealed that a team official once asked him to take out his nose ring during an interview. He responded by telling the team not to draft him if they didn’t like it.
“No,” Kamara said, via Bleacher Report. “(If) you don’t like it, you don’t need to draft me.”
He expanded more on his comments when asked about it in 2019.
“I had a team, before I went into the meeting, one of the guys came up to me and was like, ‘Well you’re about to go in with the GM, so, you know, he doesn’t really understand the nose rings and things like that, so you might want to — can you take ’em out or tuck ’em?’ I was like, ‘No.’
“Basically, if you don’t understand it or you don’t like it, then you don’t need to draft me. It wouldn’t be a good choice to draft me. I was just like, ‘If you’re uncomfortable in your work environment, you’re not going to be able to do what you’ve got to do.'”

Whichever unknown team it was listened to him, because Kamara slid to the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft before being picked up by the Saints.
He rewarded them by winning Rookie of the Year and having a Pro Bowl campaign.
