Alabama & Georgia fans are mortal enemies, but before their teams squared off against each other, they came together in a beautiful way.
During its two losses this season, Oklahoma was taunted with “SEC” chants from Baylor and Oklahoma State fans. Sooners head coach Lincoln Riley departed for USC last week after the loss at the Cowboys, but the chants have still followed him.
During Riley’s College GameDay interview, fans at the SEC Championship Game between Alabama and Georgia made sure he got an earful with those chants.
Reports soon surfaced stating Riley departed Oklahoma because he did not want to compete in the SEC after dominating the Big 12. Both the Sooners and Longhorns are scheduled to move to the conference in 2025.
Earlier this week, Riley Riley denied that Oklahoma’s move to the SEC played a role in his decision to take a new job.
“Zero. Zero percent. The leadership at OU was fantastic, communicating with me throughout that process, asked (for) feedback,” Riley said. “Certainly not saying I made the decision by any stretch, but I was able to give some feedback and be a part of those discussions. I think it’s going to be a great move for OU. I do.

That had no part of it. This decision, really, truly, no matter what anybody thinks on the outside, was about this opportunity for so many different reasons. For my family, for the opportunity that we believed in, as far as what USC could be and what we could do to help USC. It was just the right challenge at the right time. No, it had nothing to do with it.”
