We would love to blame this on 2021, but we’ve seen nonsense like this before.
The 2021 college football season is right around the corner and the nonsense has already begun between fan bases. It all started when a 31-year-old Miami Hurricanes fan in East Tennessee dropped a diss track where he called Alabama fans “slow,” which has resulted in death threats.
Coach Coop won’t release his real name because there are several people threatening physical harm over the track.
“I’ve gotten some death threats from fans and telling me they want to meet up with me at the game and stab me,” Coop told AL.com. “No, I won’t meet up with you and fight you at the Miami-Alabama game,” he added. “That might be the dumbest, stupidest thing I’ve ever heard. Maybe some of you guys like to throw hands at football games, that’s not me. I keep it about the game.”
Coop is also making it clear that he isn’t hiding, because he’ll be in the stands for the 3:30 game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Hopefully, cooler heads prevail and nobody does anything stupid over a game, but if the NFL preseason and MLB season has shown us anything is that fans will indeed fight for their teams in the stands.
