It didn’t take long for college football to show its ugly side as the recent clash between Alabama and Texas produced at least one very shameful moment.
A video in which a fan could be heard yelling homophobic and racist remarks the way of Longhorns players on the sidelines has surfaced in the wake of the Crimson Tide’s 34-24 loss on Saturday.
The clip, which you can check out right below, shows a group of Texas players on the sidelines returning taunts while a male is heard shouting “You’re a F-ing F-got. You guys are all F-gots. Go back back to the projects, F-got. Go back to the projects.”
Other fans were shouting near the unidentified male, but his comments were the clearest.
The players gracefully declined to return the remarks in kind but danced on the sideline, throwing up the horns.
A mother of one of the Texas players has since claimed that parents were spit on and had beer cans thrown at them. Angie Wisner, whose son Trey was one of the players on the sideline, expressed her feelings in a tweet.

“The fact my son down there and they saying go back to the projects really just saddens my heart that as his mother no matter how old he had to listen to that!” she wrote.
OutKick also spoke to the distraught mother, who revealed that two fights nearly broke out and two students had to be removed by police.
“A little rivalry fun is ok! Loving and having pride in your team is ok! But at the end of it all making a situation unsafe for other people is not ok!” she told the publication. “We deserved to watch our kids Kick Bama A safely.”
