Not many people tell Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide no on anything, but it certainly happened recently. The Crimson Tide need an offensive and defensive coordinator and have been linked to several candidates over the past several days.
The team zeroed in on Washington offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb for their opening. However, the feeling wasn’t mutual. According to ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg, Washington offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb will be staying with Washington after he had a meeting with Nick Saban.
Under Ryan Grubb, QB Michael Penix Jr. threw for 4,631 yards and 31 touchdowns with just eight interceptions. Because of that, he is an early 2023 Heisman candidate.
Alabama also reportedly has an interest in former Tennessee head coach Jeremy Pruitt.
Saban is looking for a new offensive coordinator after Bill O’Brien took his talents back to the NFL and got re-hired with the New England Patriots.
