The University of Alabama wasted very little time asking for donations after having its season ended in Monday’s Rose Bowl.
The Crimson Tide suffered a disappointing loss at the hands of Jim Harbaugh and the Michigan Wolverines, who are now set to play the Washington Huskies in the CFP National Championship next Monday.
It’s onward and upward for Alabama, though. Shortly after the 27-20 loss, the school’s NIL arm, Yea Alabama, got right down to the business of making a plea for cash.
“In this disappointment, we need to take action,” director of content for Yea Alabama, Aaron Suttles, said in a video. “We need you to build Alabama’s NIL entity into the biggest in the country. Yea Alabama needs your support.
“Take that bitter disappointment you have and let’s move into using it for good for NIL.”
“We need to keep this train rolling and keep this thing moving forward,” he added. “The way we do that – the way the fans have the most involvement – is supporting NIL.”

While NIL has become a big part of the game, a lack of funding was not the reason the Tide lost on New Year’s Day.
Of course, it would help if they could become a bigger attraction in terms of recruitment – there’s always room for improvement. But it was their communication errors in the secondary that led to the loss, and no amount of money’s fixing that.
