Donald Trump and Melania Trump were on hand for the National Championship game between the LSU Tigers and Clemson Tigers as they both were greeted with roaring cheers and chants of ‘USA’ and ‘4 more years.’
On top of the President and First Lady being in attendance, there was also actor Vince Vaughn in a suite with them, who could be seen shaking Trump’s hand. Vaughn had no clue at the time, but that simple gesture would cause controversy online.
The video was uploaded by former Deadspin employee, Timothy Burke, who captioned it, “I’m very sorry to have to share this video with you. All of it, every part of it.”
Once that video got out, fans took to Twitter and blasted the 49-year-old for his actions.

Although many immediately took to Twitter to share negative comments about the actor’s brief encounter with Trump, several users went online to stick up for Vaughn as well.
It is not the first time a celebrity faced social media backlash for rubbing elbows with a President as Ellen DeGeneres found out when video emerged of her sitting with ex-President George W. Bush during a Cowboys game.
