A sequel to the fan-favorite ‘Blue Mountain State’ series should soon be in the works. And the actor set to play the iconic Kevin “Thad” Castle has been revealed.
A continuation of the cult classic comedy series is being shopped by Lionsgate and, according to Deadspin, Alan Ritchson will reprise his role as Thad, with the key players from the original team also returning.
‘Blue Mountain State’ aired for three seasons on Spike from 2010, telling a fictional story about a group of freshmen who comically struggle to adapt to life at the college football supremos.
It returned in the form of the movie, ‘Blue Mountain State: The Rise of Thadland’, which was the result of a GoFundMe crowdfund.
The likes of Amazon Prime and Netflix are understood to be interested in getting the sequel. The former is very familiar with Ritchson given his portrayal of Jack Reacher in the titular ‘Reacher’ series. The original series is also available for viewing on Prime right now.
Given that Ritchson’s character was drafted into the NFL, it will be interesting to see how he returns.
