As you already know, AAU coaches and parents can get quite out of hand, and this recent incident is no different.
AAU is supposed to provide opportunities for athletes of all ages and skill levels to participate in various sports, including basketball, volleyball, swimming, wrestling, and many others. While it does do that, it also causes people to act crazy at games, mainly basketball.
An AAU basketball coach embarrassed himself over the weekend when he took issue with a call from a ref.
Instead of just arguing about it, he actually swung at the referee he had a problem with.
The referee wasn’t scared and decided to square up with the coach until both of them were separated.
The coach ended up getting kicked out of the game.

There’s no word on if that coach has faced any other penalties for his actions.
According to a comment, the coach was escorted out by security officers and the team would forfeit.
The ref was apparently also kicked out of the game, which is insane to think about since he was basically in self-defense mode. Not helping matters was him probably removing his ref’s shirt and continuing to bark at the head coach as he was being held back.
The coach shouldn’t be allowed to coach young men anymore and the ref just may need to sit down for a few games.
Either way, this is not the way you should behave in the presence of kids just trying to compete in basketball.
