What is the NCAA? The NCAA, or National Collegiate Athletic Association, is a nonprofit organization that is in charge of regulating student athletics in over 1,000 schools across the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico. They are headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana, and have been around since 1906. The current president of the NCAA is Charlie Baker.
There are three divisions of the NCAA, Division 1, Division 2, and Division 3, with the most significant difference between them being that Division 3 is not allowed to offer any athletic scholarships.
In June of 2021, the Supreme Court of the United States unanimously voted that the benefit caps the NCAA imposed on student-athletes were in violation of US antitrust law. Student-athletes are now allowed to sign paid endorsements and can profit as a student athlete. Get all of the latest NCCA news here!
