Three college football players have been charged following the tragic death of a student.
According to ABC 11’s Josh Chapin, a trio of North Carolina players are among 10 people charged in connection with a January 21 car crash that left 20-year-old Molly Rotunda dead.
Rotunda was said to be in a vehicle that was traveling at 124 mph at the time of the fatal collision.
Junior defensive lineman Travis Shaw, sophomore offensive lineman Zachary Rice, and linebacker Malaki Hamrick have since been charged.
Shaw, 19, has been accused of serving alcohol to people under the legal drinking age, with court documents claiming he bought three bottles of tequila. Two employees from the Still Life liquor store, where the spirits were purchased, have also been charged with selling alcohol to someone under the age of 21.
The five-star recruit already had an arrest warrant out in his name after failing to appear in court.
