On Tuesday, something unexpected happened when the New Orleans Pelicans, who had a 6% chance to win it all, were awarded the first overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft.
Zion’s reaction was a topic of discussion as he didn’t look too excited about the prospect of playing in New Orleans for the next few years. That led many to thinking Zion just might go back to Duke since he hadn’t technically signed with an agent as of yet or signed a shoe deal.
Well, his step-father just answered those rumors when he was interviewed by 104.5 ESPN in Baton Rouge.
“As far as returning to Duke, that’s not something we have even considered,” said Lee Anderson.
“We met with David Griffin and had a great conversation and are excited at the prospect of getting settled and finding a place to stay.”

The likelihood of Zion returning to college is very slim, because the Pelicans would be just as bad, if not worse next year and be in prime position to get the #1 pick again. It’s not like the NFL where the worst record will no doubt get the 1st pick. It’s a toss up.
