On Tuesday, it was announced that former Duke star Zion Williamson would be taking his shoe wearing talents and signing with the Jordan Brand. According to a report from Darren Rovell, Williamson passed up bigger deals from other companies to sign with Jordan because it was Williamson’s dream to wear the logo of his favorite player: Michael Jordan.
Basketball insider Adam Zagoria would soon take to Twitter and reveal how much the deal was worth, and it was shockingly not as much as people thought it would be.
According to Zagoria, Jordan will pay Zion $75 million over the first seven years of the deal.
The No. 1 overall pick from the 2019 NBA draft ended up taking $25 million less than the nine figure he was reportedly searching for during the offseason.
Either way, Williamson is going to be insanely rich with other endorsements coming his way, especially if he turns out to be the next big thing in the NBA.
