As the NBA season kicks off, it’s not just the on-court performances that heat up—trash-talking among players also becomes a highlight. New Orleans Pelicans star Zion Williamson has also made a name for himself in the realm of trash talk, particularly in his matchups against the Dallas Mavericks last season.
However, Williamson believes not all trash talkers are the same. In a recent Instagram video, he shared his thoughts on the different styles of trash-talking he’s observed across the league.
“There are different styles of trash-talking. You have Ant [Anthony Edwards]. Ant talks trash kind of directly. You have KD [Kevin Durant], but KD’s trash-talking is more like, ‘Dude, I am just a better hooper,’ and how he goes about it is like I can’t do nothing but respect it,” Williams said.
‘And then you got somebody like… he never initiates it, but when someone does talk trash, he takes it to another gear, that would be Kyrie [Irving],” he added.

During the tour, the players had the chance to visit one of the world’s most iconic landmarks, the Great Wall of China. The experience left a profound impact on Zion Williamson. The Pelicans forward, who recently revealed the number of unread messages on his phone, was struck by the peacefulness and grandeur of the site.
“I would at least try to come here once a week if I lived here. You can be dealing with anything; if you come out here, this is peace. This is what peace looks like,” Williamson said.
“It was a great experience. I definitely see one of the Seven Wonders of the world. And the whole time I kept thinking to myself is that men built this and we only saw a small piece of it, so it was definitely exciting, and I’m glad I got the experience,” he added.
With Williamson, the Pelicans will kick off their next season with a shutdown against the Orlando Magic on October 7.
