On Monday, the New Orleans Pelicans held their annual media day just ahead of training camp which is set to begin next week. Like the past couple of media days for the Pelicans, the top storyline heading into the season was the health of former number one overall pick, power forward Zion Williamson.
After missing the entire 2021-22 season due to a foot injury, a slimmed down Zion showed up looking like he is in the best shape of his life.
After appearing in just 85 games in his first three seasons, Williamson seems like he has put in the work over the Summer to stay healthy and be on the court as much as possible for the Pelicans this upcoming season.
Zion does not only look like he is in much better shape, he says he is feeling great heading into camp.
In July, Zion and the Pelicans agreed to a five-year, $193 million extension. After acquiring shooting guard CJ McCollum in a trade with Portland last season to go along with all-star small forward Brandon Ingram, New Orleans looks setup to contend in the Western Conference this season.
