Following the Dallas Mavericks’ three straight wins in the Western Conference Finals series, the majority believed the Minnesota Timberwolves season was over. However, the latter rebounded at the right time to turn the tie around. Anthony Edwards remained upbeat going into game 4 and was seen reminding Kyrie Irving that he was not playing around.
A video clip from the middle of the game has been going viral on the internet where the Ant-Man is spotted mumbling something to the Mavs guard. To unfold the mystery, the “LegendZ” account, famous for disclosing leaked audio, came to the rescue and revealed yet another spicy trash talk audio of Edwards taunting Irving, “Let’s go back to Minnesota… you thought it was over?”
The Wolves came all prepared on Tuesday at the American Airlines Center to stun the home crowd with their action-filled show. They had taken an early lead of seven points in the opening quarter, which the Mavs recovered by the first half but couldn’t cut the 5-point deficit that the T’Wolves made in the third quarter and finished with a 100-105 loss. After the game, Edwards assured that the series was far from over and there would be a game 6.
Anthony Edwards Guarantees Game 5 Win
Anthony Edwards had guaranteed to come back in the semi-final series against the Denver Nuggets, which resulted in his favor and he did it again this time after securing a win against the Mavericks.
During the post-game press conference, when Edwards was asked about the source of his confidence which made him say that he will come back for Game 6, the 22-year-old guard said, “What am I supposed to say? I’m supposed to say, ‘we’re going to lose Game 5?’ No, I’ll never say that. Micah Parsons, you know, he was rocking the AE1’s and I told him, he wear a size 14, I’ll bring him back some nice shoes for Game 6.” (6:40 mark)

Luka Doncic dropped a brilliant triple-double of 28 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists for the Mavs but couldn’t snatch the win. In comparison, Edwards put up a 29-10-9 stat line and got help from Karl-Anthony Towns (25 points) in the offense along with his other Minnesota teammates in the win.
The Timberwolves still have a long way to go to redeem themselves in the 3-1 series, but with this win, they worried the Mavs, who needed one win to advance to the NBA Finals.
