The Sacramento Kings faced disappointment after the New Orleans Pelicans knocked them out of the Playoff race. However, their star player, De’Aaron Fox, was not disheartened much by the loss and instead looked towards a brighter future.
Fox did a post-game interview, revealing his thoughts regarding the recent loss and the future. A reporter asked him if he saw the season as a setback, and De’Aaron Fox gave him a very calm answer. “I mean, there is obviously something to build off on… The West (Conference) isn’t getting any easier so obviously it is a disappointment not being able to be in the playoffs, not being able to be one of those top elite teams but we have something to build off on and you look forward to it going into next season,” said De’Aaron Fox.

Fox expressed his disappointment with his team for not making the playoffs; however, he revealed that he was already looking forward to the next season. He was sad that he was not among the best teams in the league but saw this recent defeat as an opportunity to build on and get back more potent in the next season.
Fox’s remarks exemplified admirably the winner’s mentality, which distinguishes elite athletes from the rest of the pack. His desire for hunger was evident in his words, and the league should be on the lookout for the return of the Sacramento Kings.
De’Aaron Fox speaks on Malik Monks’ uncertain future at the Kings
De’Aaron Fox recently shared his thoughts on the uncertain future of teammate Malik Monk. Monk will become an unrestricted free agent this summer, and it looks hard for the Kings to retain him. Monks finished his season in second place in points and assists per game for a bench player. He is a possible winner for the 6th Man of the Year title because of his incredible performance.

“I am happy for him regardless if he is with us or not. He knows that. But at the end of the day, this is business. You can play basketball for so long,” said De’Aaron Fox. He explained that he would be happy if Monk would be with the team or if he decided to leave.
