The Celtics extended their lead to 3-1 in the series against the Heat on Monday night. Bam Adebayo tried his best, leading the scoring for the Miami franchise, but his 25 points on the night were not enough to stop the Heat from suffering an 88-102 defeat.
Apart from his scoring, Bam Adebayo became a talking point of the match after his flagrant 1 foul on Jayson Tatum. In the post-match press conference, Adebayo said, “I don’t even know. We just gonna move on from that, you gonna get me fined.”
After Derrick White took a tumble just beyond the 3-point arc, a foul was called in the fourth quarter. Despite the ref’s whistle, Tatum took the shot, which was closed down by Adebayo. The Heat forward stayed put in his position and Tatum landed on Adebayo’s foot, rolling his ankle in the process. Officials called it a flag 1 offense by Bam, to which the 26-year-old declined to comment after the match, fearing further punishment by the NBA.
Though Adebayo had his lips sealed about the incident, Jayson Tatum had no problems speaking about it after the game.
Jayson Tatum Moves On From Bam Adebayo Foul
Following their dominant win in Game 4, Jayson Tatum clarified that he had moved on from the on-court action. In a postgame interview, when the All-Star forward was asked about his ankle injury, he said, “I’m fine, I’m good.” The reporter further asked whether Bam Adebayo said anything to him after the game considering they’re close, stating that the Miami center didn’t say anything Tatum added, “I wasn’t worried about it — move on to the next play, we still had a game to win.”

Tatum, who has his priorities straight, chipped in with a double-double of 20 points and 11 rebounds while converting 5-of-14 shots from the floor, 2-of-6 from behind the 3-point arc, and 8 accurate shots from free throws. The Celtics would want to end their first-round battle with the Heat in their next face-off on Wednesday at the TD Garden, where a win would eliminate the Miami franchise from the tournament.
