The Boston Celtics finally came across the Miami Heat in Game 1 of the first-round playoffs. A lot of banter had been unused before this game, where Heat fans teased the Celtics, and some Celtics players responded.
The Celtics also went in to avenge their Eastern Conference finals loss from last season. The atmosphere was already high, with intense rivalry filling the air, and it didn’t take long for the players to start trash-talking each other. A recent video of the confrontation between Celtics and Heat players has surfaced online. In the video, Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown can be heard trash-talking Heat players Jaime Jaquez and Caleb Martin.
Jaime Jaquez tried to bring the ball upcourt in one attempt and crashed against Jayson Tatum. Jaime asked, “What the f**k are you doing?” right away. “Are you going to cry?” Tatum said it in a caustic manner. The stars’ bitterness was evident during that encounter, as they had very little sportsmanship.
In another instance of the game, a Heats player hard-fouled Jaylen Brown. The Celtics star let his emotions take over and burst into anger. “Watch that sh*t,” said Brown. On the other hand, Caleb Martin comforted his teammates and counseled them not to become irritated by Brown’s provocations. “You’re not like that,” said Martin. The Heats star realized that it was far more important to avoid getting ejected.

The Celtics and the Heat have quite a fiery history between them. Miami is a team that doesn’t die; they made an unforgettable underdog run in 2020, beating Boston in the Eastern Conference finals. In 2022, they gave the Celtics tough competition but lost the series in Game 7, and last season, they defeated the C’s as the 8th seed, a standing similar to this season.
