Following a three-pointer over Kevin Durant toward the conclusion of the third quarter in Saturday’s Game 1 playoff game between the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Phoenix Suns, Anthony Edwards trash-talked Durant. Durant didn’t give much thought to the 120-95 loss since he saw it as a regular aspect of the game and the competition.
He admitted that the Timberwolves star’s shot was tricky. The player established his rhythm early in the game and hasn’t let it go since.
“Yeah, it’s just basketball, not even playoffs, it’s just hoop. You get hot, you make shots, you make tough shots, you’re gonna feel excited about yourself.” Durant said.
According to the NBA website, Edwards ended with nine rebounds, six assists, two steals, and 33 points. Not to be outdone, Suns star Kevin Durant led his team in scoring with 31 points and seven rebounds throughout the game. But it wasn’t enough to overcome the formidable defensive capabilities of the Minnesota Timberwolves.
