Because of his giant frame, Yao Ming will almost never go unrecognized wherever he travels in public.
The 42-year-old Ming was one of the NBA’s elite scorers during his Hall of Fame career with the Houston Rockets. The No. 1 overall pick of the 2002 NBA Draft was an eight-time All-Star who also earned three All-NBA Third Team nods and two All-NBA Second Team selections.
It’s hard for any celebrity to avoid attention from others when they’re out in public, as you can see in this video of Ming back in April:
Last week, Twitter user @Heady_ posted a video of Ming walking around an airport with the caption, “What kind of height is this?.”
Several fans responded to the Twitter user to let them know that it’s none other than Yao Ming.

Ming spent his entire career with the Rockets, which spanned from 2002-03 to 2010-11. Unfortunately, Ming missed the entire 2009-10 season due to a foot injury, and he retired after missing all but five games the following year.
Ming played all but two regular season games from 2002-03 to 2004-05, but injuries unfortunately took over the back half of his career. He missed 25 games in 2005-06, 34 games the following year and 27 games in 2007-08.
In 2008-09 (his last healthy year), Ming appeared in 77 games and averaged 19.7 points, 1.8 assists and 9.9 rebounds per game.
