A glimpse of what could be the next move for Warriors’ Chris Paul can be anticipated to some extent from an old video of JJ Redick. Following the confirmation of his current role at the LA Lakers, a video from the previous year is circulating on social media. The newly hired head coach is seen talking about how his former teammate, Paul could win a championship with the Lakers.
Last year on his podcast “The Old Man & The Three” Redick stated, “I feel like, with his level of intelligence and LeBron, his ability to play pick and roll with Anthony Davis. I just feel like if I’m Chris [Paul] and I’m like, ‘Where gives me the best chance to potenitally compete for a championship?’ To me, it feels like, next year in particular, it would be more the Lakers than the Clippers.”
According to Redick, pairing up with LeBron and Co. would allow CP3 to add the championship trophy to his name. That would be the best way for the veteran guard to complete his resume. With his old friend Redick in the coaching chair, the possibility of the move is on the higher end.
However, the LA side has yet to show any interest in Chris Paul. They seem to have bigger fish to fry in the last few days left of the summer trade.
Lakers to Have Big Summer Ahead With JJ Redick
Shams Charania of The Athletic recently revealed what could be the potential future of the Purple & Gold under JJ Redick. During his appearance on the “Pat McAfee Show”, the Insider talked about the pressure Lakers’ front office is facing because of the roster change.
Speaking to the host, Shams disclosed, “One name that they did pursue last season at the trade deadline that I think teams around the league expect to come up again in trade conversations over the next week or so, and makes sense for the Lakers is Dejounte Murray with the Hawks.”

Murray’s play-making style would benefit the LA team, especially if LeBron decides to part ways. The Hawks guard has an average of 22.5 points, 6.4 assists, and 5.3 rebounds this season.
After acquiring JJ Redick, the Lakers would be keen on joining the pieces to bring back their glory days. With the Celtics in the lead, the Lakers would make every possible move to cut the deficit with their Eastern rivals.
