The Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards is known for his fearless confidence on and off the court. Edwards has sparked discussions with bold statements, such as claiming that Michael Jordan was the only truly skilled player of his era. His unapologetic approach to expressing himself has become part of his identity as an NBA star.
During a recent interview with comedian and actor Chris Tucker for Interview Magazine, Edwards again showed his fearless attitude. During their conversation, Tucker asked Edwards if he’d be interested in playing a one-on-one game against Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant. Edwards didn’t hesitate in his response.
“Oh yeah, he’ll be back this year. A lot of people, I ain’t going to say they forgot about him. But he went under wraps for a few months because he hasn’t been playing. But as far as one-on-one, yeah, I can probably cook him,” Edwards said.
Anthony Edwards Reflects on Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan’s Leadership Styles
During the interview with Chris Tucker, Anthony Edwards shared his thoughts on the leadership styles of NBA legends Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan. While both Bryant and Jordan were known for their tough and demanding leadership, Edwards offered a different perspective, especially regarding today’s game.
“I can agree to disagree, because in today’s game everybody’s different. You can’t talk to everybody the same. You got to talk to players differently. Certain players can take it. I talk to some of my teammates like, ‘Hey, get your s— together,’” Edwards said.
“But some players, you got to go talk to them on the side. You can’t really cuss them out in front of everybody,” he added.
