With 40 points on Tuesday, Zion Williamson had his greatest performance of the year. In the opening game of the NBA play-in tournament, the New Orleans Pelicans fell short against the Los Angeles Lakers despite his performance. Williamson also left the game in the last few minutes due to discomfort in his left leg. According to reports that surfaced on Wednesday, Williamson is expected to miss Friday’s elimination game.
Veteran NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski provided the news, blaming Williamson’s issues on a hamstring ailment. Additionally, Wojnarowski stated that Williamson will undergo another evaluation in the upcoming weeks.
If the New Orleans Pelicans make it to the next round and play the Sacramento Kings on Friday, things might get ugly for them. Sunday is scheduled for Game 1 against the OKC Thunder, while April 24 is scheduled for Game 2.
All three games and the play-in game on Friday are scheduled for seven days. If Williamson is scheduled for a reevaluation in the upcoming weeks, he may miss a significant portion of the first round.
