The second and final game of the Dallas Mavericks season series versus the Atlanta Hawks is scheduled for this Thursday. Star shooter Luka Doncic is listed to be available for the game.
Before Tuesday night’s road loss to Golden State, Dallas had been playing excellently, winning seven straight games and eleven of their previous twelve overall. The Mavericks, who have a 45-30 season record, are tied with the Pelicans for first place in the Southwest Division going into their Thursday night game.
For the previous four games, Luka Doncic has been battling left Achilles discomfort. He has been allowed to participate in each of those games at kickoff, despite this. Dallas shot 43.8% from the field throughout the game, making 15 of 40 tries from beyond the arc. Nevertheless, they trailed 52–42 after failing to score in the rebounding department.
The Mavericks’ star player appears to have taken a toll from the arduous job of spearheading the offense. This was made clear on March 13 when he sustained an injury to his hamstring during their second meeting with the Golden State Warriors, which ended in a 109-99 victory.

Doncic has struggled with injuries a number of times this season. After suffering an ankle strain that kept him out of action for a while, he fractured the nose vs the Philadelphia 76ers on February 5 and had to miss further games.
Doncic had another injury setback in a cross-conference game vs the Washington Wizards only one week later. He was evaluated right away after suffering an elbow to the face.
