In a media conference on Thursday, Clippers general manager Lawrence Frank provided the most recent update on Kawhi Leonard’s condition ahead of the team’s 2024 NBA playoffs first-round matchup. Leonard’s right knee soreness kept him out of the last eight games of the regular season. It was formerly described as soreness.
Ty Lue suggested it was a small problem. That doesn’t appear to be the case, though. Leonard isn’t fully recovered before of the Clippers’ 2024 NBA playoffs first-round matchup against the Dallas Mavericks, after missing three weeks of play. According to NBA source Ohm Youngmisuk, Clippers general manager Lawrence Frank gave the most recent update on Kawhi Leonard’s condition.
“He’s doing everything. Our medical staff is doing everything to get the inflammation down so he can play. Progress has been made, but more progress needs the inflammation needs to continue to reduce so he can do functional basketball movements.”
The Clippers’ first-round matchup with the Mavericks is set to begin in a few days on Sunday at 1:00 PM ET on their home court. Kawhi Leonard’s basketball mobility is still problematic, so it’s unclear how he’ll fare in Game 1. He will be treated with doubt by LA, but it looks like he could miss the first game of the series.

The most dependable player thus far, particularly when it comes to offense, is Kawhi Leonard. With him, the squad had just one successful playoff run, to the conference semifinals in 2020. In 2021, they made it to the conference finals, although Leonard was only available until the semi-finals once again.
