Karl-Anthony Towns’ potential return to the Minnesota Timberwolves is a source of great excitement for the team’s supporters. With two games remaining in the season, there is growing optimism that Towns will be in the Wolves’ lineup. Due to a knee ailment, the big man has missed eighteen games this season.
According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the towns will soon be in the starting lineup. He said the Wolves intend to bring him back before the 2023–24 season concludes to get him ready for postseason action.
Charania tweeted – “Minnesota’s Karl-Anthony Towns is on track to return Friday vs. Hawks. He’s been upgraded to questionable. Wolves entering weekend tied for No. 2 in the West,”
Karl-Anthony Towns’s absence from the starting lineup has not caused much difficulty for the Wolves. Their record is 12-6 during the big man’s injury-plagued absence. Anthony Edwards did most of the hard lifting, particularly in the attacking department. One bright side was that the big man’s absence did not impact the team’s rankings.
Towns averaged 22.1 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 3.0 assists in 60 games this season, per the NBA website. 42.3% of the shots the former Kentucky standout makes come from beyond the arc.

Initially, more games were anticipated of him, with a comeback scheduled for the start of the Western Conference playoffs’ first round. Towns have reportedly been given the all-clear to participate in 5-on-5 scrimmages.
Naz Reid has replaced All-Star big man Karl-Anthony Towns as the starting forward since the latter’s injury. The fact that the Wolves didn’t lose many games while Reid was out of the lineup indicates his success.
Since replacing the injured star, Reid has averaged 17.6 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 2.1 assists. With 42.6% of his shots from beyond the arc, the backup big man is also a skilled shooter. Reid is still productive for the Wolves and has not let the squad down this season.
