The Chicago Bulls may still qualify for the NBA Playoffs in 2024 with one victory, but they could have trouble given that Alex Caruso is still recovering from an injury. It’s doubtful that the former NBA All-Defensive First Team member will play against the Miami Heat.
In the second quarter of the Bulls vs. Hawks NBA Eastern Conference Play-In Tournament knockout game, Alex Caruso departed after colliding with teammate Andre Drummond. As both rushed back to the defensive end, Drummond’s power drove the smaller Caruso to the ground. The six-foot-three guard left the game after hobbling back to the Bulls bench.
Despite playing just 17:25 minutes, the Bulls’ starting forward scored six points, two rebounds, two assists, two three-pointers, and one steal.
The Bulls defeated the Hawks 131-116, even without Caruso. According to the NBA website, Coby White had one of his most outstanding performances, scoring 42 points, nine rebounds, six assists, and two steals. White’s hot hand was followed by Nikola Vucevic and DeMar DeRozan, who scored 24 and 22 points, respectively.

“He caught me on my right foot that kinda gave out- my left one tried to catch me. Just kind of tweaked my ankle a little bit, that same one I was dealing with for the last couple weeks of the season that we were managing and figuring out,”
Despite his injury, Alex Caruso has not yet indicated that he will play against the Heat. The Bulls should, however, take advantage of the possibility that Jimmy Butler, Miami’s star player, has an MCL injury that will keep him out of action for a few weeks.
