Jimmy Butler’s current Miami Heat contract has two seasons remaining, with a player option for 2025-26. Recently, Brooklyn Nets insider Robert Windrem claimed that Butler might desire to reunite with his former teammate Ben Simmons in Brooklyn.
Amid this, Sports Illustrated shared a wild new trade proposal involving Jimmy Butler. The hypothetical trade would send Butler and Pelle Larson to the Golden State Warriors in exchange for a blockbuster package. The proposal involves a multi-team trade, including the Miami Heat, Atlanta Hawks, and Golden State Warriors.
In this trade scenario, the Heat would receive Deandre Hunter, Bogdan Bogdanovic, Jonathan Kuminga, Moses Moody, and a 2025 first-round pick via the Warriors. The Hawks would acquire Andrew Wiggins, Kevon Looney, Nikola Jovic, and Gui Santos, alongside future first-round picks in 2027 and 2031 from the Warriors and Heat.
Fans Slam the’ Potential Mock Draft for Jimmy Butler
The Golden State Warriors need a veteran star following the departure of Klay Thompson, who joined the Dallas Mavericks this offseason. With Thompson gone, the Warriors have been actively pursuing top talent to maintain their championship aspirations. They initially set their sights on Paul George and Lauri Markkanen, but unfortunately, those pursuits fell through.
Hence, when the mock draft shared the prospect of Butler joining the Warriors, it was expected that fans would love it. However, fans aren’t thrilled about the idea.
Some have voiced frustration over the trade proposal. They suggested that the Warriors may need to part ways with four core players to land Butler. To these fans, losing such key pieces doesn’t make sense and could hurt the team in the long run.

As the Warriors continue their search for the right fit, it remains to be seen whether Butler will be the key to their next title run or if the cost is too high for the franchise.
