The NBA announced this season’s All-NBA teams on Wednesday, and it was no surprise that two conference finalists, Anthony Edwards and Tyrese Haliburton were involved. Edwards made it into the second team, while Haliburton made it into the third team. With the All-NBA selection, both of them are not eligible for a $243 million contract due to the $41 million bonus clause activated after the prestigious selection.

While social media advocated for Anthony Edwards to earn the bumper contract, not the same can be said about Haliburton. Hoop enthusiasts have raised their eyebrows over the Pacers guard’s impending fortune and made sure to let everyone know about it on X (formerly known as Twitter). Here are some of their comments:

Tyrese Haliburton averaged 20.1 points per game in the regular season compared to Anthony Edwards’ 25.9. With the massive postseason he is having with the Timberwolves, a massive contract extension is a no-brainer.

How Much Does Anthony Edwards Currently Make?

Anthony Edwards’ entry into the NBA scene was met with far from overwhelming jubilation due to the pandemic. But in the 4 years, he has shown his top-echelon potential and is now the face of the Timberwolves.

He signed a 5-year, $204 million max contract extension with the Timberwolves in July 2023 and with his All-NBA selection, it could go up to $243 million. But this contract will be active after this season as he is now in the final year of his rookie contract.

In the $44,271,137 rookie contract, Ant-Man is making $13.5 million this season and can be seen as a penny pinch for the franchise. After a storming first-round performance against the Suns, Edwards carried it on against the Nuggets. But in the conference finals, this is a different ball game where the Mavs, led by Luka Doncic, handed them their first series opener loss in the postseason.
