For the Philadelphia 76ers, Joel Embiid is like a life savior on the court, yet the seven-time All-Star still owes the 76ers a championship. Though the Sixers fans still keep their hope and trust in Embiid, Chris Broussard can’t be calm anymore.
During his appearance on ‘First Things First,’ Broussard didn’t hesitate to criticize Embiid for his lack of championship experience.
“Joel Embiid is under the most pressure of any player in the league. Everybody is getting their championship, Joel. When are you getting yours?” Broussard said.
Since being selected third overall in the 2014 NBA Draft, Embiid has been a dominant force for the 76ers. However, under his leadership, the team has not made it to the Eastern Conference Finals since 2001.
The recent season saw the Sixers finish with a 47-35 record, only to be eliminated by the New York Knicks in six games during the first round of the playoffs.
Chris Broussard’s Previous Criticism Toward Joel Embiid for Health Concerns
It’s not the first time that Chris Broussard has expressed his frustration with Joel Embiid. Back in April, Broussard called out Embiid for his health issues, which caused the Philadelphia 76ers to suffer on the court.

“If I were the Sixers, I would be so frustrated with Joel Embiid. They’re legitimate injuries most of the time; it’s not like he’s faking or anything; it’s not like he’s just soft, but he’s never healthy at this time of year,” Broussard said.
Last season, Embiid played in 39 games, averaging 33.6 minutes per game. He delivered impressive stats, averaging 34.7 points, 11.0 rebounds, and 5.6 assists per game. Despite these numbers, Broussard remains critical, comparing Embiid to players who have underperformed in the playoffs.
“We’ve talked about a lot of guys who fade in the playoffs… Of course, James Harden is most notable. D’Angelo Russell with the Lakers,” Broussard added.
