The Denver Nuggets have been put on the back foot by the Timberwolves after the 106-99 win for the Minnesota team. This was arguably the first time a team had put the reigning champions on the defensive in quite a while.
Going into the game, the discussion was about whether the Timberwolves’ trio of Anthony Edwards, Rudy Gobert and Karl-Anthony Towns could cause concerns for the Denver juggernaut. After taking a 1-0 lead in the Western Conference semifinals, Wolves big man, Karl-Anthony Towns talked about that Big 3 narrative. “Everybody talks about our Big 3 – the me, Rudy and Ant combo – but we really have a big 15,” said KAT.
As the game progressed on Saturday evening, the Timberwolves bench came into play and pushed the side through in the final quarter. Acknowledging that Towns spoke highly of his teammates and how the whole team is fortunate enough to play together in a high-stakes series.
While the first pick of the 2015 NBA Draft talked about his faith in the strength of the Timberwolves pack, his one moment of individual brilliance took over social media.
Karl-Anthony Towns Goes Viral for No-Look Pass
In the opening game of the series, Anthony Edwards came out of the gates in the same mood as he did against the Suns in the previous round. After the Timberwolves were up 16-4 at one point in the first quarter, Karl-Anthony Towns joined the party by threading an inch-perfect pass to Rudy Gobert. The dime was special because Towns pulled it off without even looking at Gobert, who found himself just under the rim for an easy dunk.

KAT finished the game with a stat line of 20-4-3 with Ant-Man being the star of the show. Edwards finished with 43 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists. Naz Reid and Mike Conley also chipped in with 16 and 14 points, respectively, as the visitors kept Denver at bay.
The next game of the series will be played on Monday in the Ball Arena, and the Big 15 of the Timberwolves will surely look to create some daylight between them and the home team.
