Golden State Warriors star Klay Thompson is now at the center of attention for negotiations surrounding his contract with the Warriors. While fans eagerly await news on his future with the team, Thompson’s current focus seems to be on an entirely different court. He is now passing time on the basketball courts of Houston, Texas, where he was recently spotted.
Although Thompson’s participation in the Olympic qualifiers remains uncertain, he has been actively involved in training sessions with the Bahamas national team.
Alongside NBA talents like Buddy Hield, Deandre Ayton, and Eric Gordon, Thompson has been seen honing his skills. He was bonding well with teammates ahead of crucial matchups against Poland and Finland in the upcoming tournament.
Thompson’s connection to the Bahamas runs deeper than basketball. His father, Mychal Thompson, hails from the island nation. His older brother, Mychel Thompson, currently serves as an assistant coach for the Bahamian National Team.
In 2016, Thompson tasted victory on the international stage when he secured a gold medal with Team USA. But, this time around, his path to Olympic participation isn’t as straightforward. To join the Bahamas in the qualifiers, Thompson would need clearance from USA Basketball and approval from FIBA.
