When the Dallas Mavericks added Kyrie Irving to their roster last year in February, nobody believed that he would have such an impact on the team, especially on their All-Star guard Luka Doncic. After an incredible partnership in the regular season (2023-2024), the duo pulled the team to the playoffs where they continued to support each other on-court.
Thanks to the consistency of the guards, the Mavs managed to win their semifinal series against the top-seeded Western team, Oklahoma City Thunder. Following their 117-116 nail-biting win in Game 6, the pair were spotted hugging after a long and tiring Saturday night. Their emotional moment was captured and posted on the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) and the NBA community couldn’t stop praising them.
A fan wrote, “I was told this duo wouldn’t work out, look at them now”.
Another fan added, “luka finally found his duo”.
Someone commented, “No one expected them to get this far. These two have formed a formidable tandem.”
