The Golden State Warriors have made a strategic move by acquiring veteran point guard Dennis Schroder from the Brooklyn Nets. The addition of Schroder comes at a critical time as the Warriors look to ease the offensive burden on their superstar, Stephen Curry. The German guard is expected to enhance the team’s offensive dynamics significantly alongside Curry, as the sharpshooter lost his “Splash Brother,” Klay Thompson, in the offseason move.
The Warriors will face the Memphis Grizzlies on Thursday, and Schroder could make his debut in the starting lineup. This matchup will serve as an early test of how well the team can integrate the veteran guard into their system. Ahead of the game, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr expressed his excitement, stating their new star will get all the non-Steph minutes.

“We need to take some of the burden off Steph. He’s had to take on, I think, an abnormal load this year of responsibility offensively. What we’ve missed is another pick-and-roll player so that Steph doesn’t have to run so much pick-and-roll all game and wear himself down,” Kerr said.
Dennis Schroder Excited To Join Warriors And Play Alongside Curry And Green
After an abrupt end to his time with the Brooklyn Nets, Dennis Schroder is looking forward to a fresh start with the Golden State Warriors. The veteran point guard has already begun envisioning his role alongside Warriors stars Stephen Curry and Draymond Green.
“Just to be able to be around them now, especially Steph. He’s one of, if not the best, point guards ever. Best shooter, of course. Just excited to see how he works and to be a part of it. I’ve played with a lot of future Hall of Famers the last couple of years. Him and Draymond will make it kind of complete now,” Schroder said.
Schroder’s time with the Nets was short, playing only one full season and 23 regular-season games this year. Before his trade, he was averaging 18.4 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 6.6 assists per game this season.
