According to the Hornets family, Ball allegedly drove over 11-year-old Angell Joseph’s foot, breaking it, after ignoring the boy’s request for an autograph. The boy’s mother shared heart-breaking words from his son after the incident.

“[Angell] was like, ‘LaMelo, I love you. I love you, sign my … give me your autograph. Can you sign it for me?’ she told.
The incident reportedly took place when fans were approaching players after an event. As Angell eagerly sought an autograph from Ball, the player’s inattentive driving led to the accident. The boy’s mother explained that Angell had to endure the pain, physical rehabilitation, and emotional distress of the incident involving his favorite player as well.
The NBA and the Charlotte Hornets have yet to comment on Ball’s latest reckless driving saga. Nevertheless, it wouldn’t be surprising if the league intervenes, considering the potential liability.
